Nestled at the base of Grass Mesa on the impressive Colorado River, Rifle is located at the bottom of the "River Valley." The world's largest oil shale deposit locally known as the "Book Cliffs" create a majestice skyline to the west of our town. Various mountain parks, a championship 18 hole golf course, and a treasure trove of outdoor activites lend rifle it's unique charm.
